New Audi Models for 2007

Audi are expected to release a new A3/S3 in 2007. There will also be new variations of its existing line up, including a the 2WD and 4WD roadster versions of the new Audi TT (in time for next summer we hope).
The company are also believed to have plenty more Q off roaders in the pipeline to compete against BMW's X ranges, though whether we'll be seeing these in 2007 is not yet clear. The new models include new Q3 and Q5 off roaders, and also a hybrid Q7.
The company's new R8 supercoupe debuts at the Paris Motorshow, and its expected to offer serious competition for the nearby Porsche factory; the list price will be similar to the 911's starting price, and yet the cars V8 engine offers over 400bhp.
Audi are tapping into the prestige of their Lamborghini brand, and are looking to extend that prestige across the rest of the range; given the way the company have built up the VW brand on the back of the Audi name, and the Seat and Skoda brands too, we have no doubt that the assocation between Lamborghini and Audi can only be a good thing.
It was initially expected that the R8 would actually borrow the V10 engine from the Gallardo, especially as VW have used that engine in their S8 Saloon, but for a variety of reasons it seems they have gone with the V8. There are however rumours of two further versions of the R8 to follow the first version which was completed in September 2006, so watch this space.

2006 Audi R8

Audi have created a fantastic new model for their range by combining their in house expertise with that of supercar maker Lamborghini. Initial rumours speculated that the company were taking the Gallardo's engine and popping it in an Audi look body. However, we now understand that the new car, which will sell for about £50,000 less than the list price of the Lamborghini, will actually feature the VW/Audi V8 engine instead. Despite this the new Audi, which debuted at the 2006 Paris Motor show, will be a tremendous success, and a fantastic new flagship model for the German company. The car is believed to have over 400bhp from the V8 engine, and with a kerb weight of 1600kg it should be more than fast enough for most.
