Braintree is set to celebrate its 55th annual carnival in 2018 and once again we plan to have a terrific day.

Attractions in the main arena will include the usual array of local talent. Also, around the field will be the usual fun fair and selection of stalls and refreshments.

Our primary aims of the carnival are to provide entertainment for the town and to raise funds for our chosen project.

A big thank you to everyone who takes part in the event. We could not do it without you all.

You can take part in the carnival in a number of ways:

• Enter a float or simply walk in the procession.
• Enter the Carnival Queen or Princess competitions.
• Hire a pitch but hurry as only a limited number of spaces are available.
• Enter the Window Display competition.
