View From The Field

Braintree is set to celebrate its 56th annual carnival in 2019 and once again we plan to have a terrific day.

Attractions in the main arena will include the usual array of local talent. Also, around the field will be the usual fun fair and selection of stalls and refreshments.

Our primary aims of the carnival are to provide entertainment for the town and to raise funds for our chosen project.

A big thank you to everyone who takes part in the event. We could not do it without you all.

Take Part

You can take part in the carnival in a number of ways:

Keith Robert Watson

4th March 1962 - 27th November 2018

Keith joined the Carnival Committee almost from the day he was born and was an active member until the day he died in 2018.

Over the years Keith helped with many activities. He did so many jobs on and off the field but was never happier than when he was sat on the Carnival Field eating breakfast (as seen below).

Unfortunately, ill health hampered Keith in recent years but he still came along to offer moral support.

He will be sadly missed by all of us.

In memory of Keith we have chosen the 'British Heart Foundation' campaign as one of our 2019 Project. This aims to create a 'Nation of Life Savers'. Further details can be found in the [Project] section.

There is also a funding campaign to raise money for a defibrillator to be situated at Charles Leeks House, Coggeshall Road. This is a busy part of the town and with a lot of public usage and would be an ideal location. If you would like to donate towards this worthy cause then please click the link below:
