David received his certificate from Mansfield Group’s Chief Observer Gordon Atherley. Gordon almost always carries out the last guidance before an associate's test - an essential activity in maintaining Mansfield Group's incredibly high test pass rate.

Congratulations to Ray Bennett who passed his IAM Test Recently. Ray received his certificate from IAM Examiner Nigel Hutson at a recent Mansfield Group Guidance Session.

Thank you very much to Nigel for attending our Guidance Session, and also for your recent presentation about the work of the Police Accident Investigation Team. It's fantastic for our Associates to be able to meet an examiner before they take their tests.

And congratulations to Ruth Willey on passing the IAM Advanced Driving test.

Ruth was presented with her group certificate by Trevor Huntington (Senior Observer) at a recent Guidance session.

Trevor is often the first person in our Group that our new Associate Members meet, as he tirelessly promotes the group’s work at Guidance Sessions, so it’s particularly fitting for him to be handing out our Group’s Certificate to our newest full member.

Ken Woodward, Mansfield Group's Associate Liaison Officer, presents Steven Richards with his certificate.

Congratulations to Steven who passed his IAM test on 6th July 2012.

As Observer Liaison Officer, Ken carries out many duties. He's the person who introduces our new Associates to the skills needed to pass the advanced driving test before they have their first Guidance, and Ken usually gives demo drives to Associates part way through their course. Ken also keeps in touch with all Associates to help speed their progress towards a successful test. We're keeping him incredibly busy this year with so many new Associates and IAM Test passes!

Congratulations to David Fisher on passing his IAM Test.

David received his IAM certificate from Renwick Denton, the Group's Observer Liaison Officer, at our Group Social Meeting on 1st May 2012

Renwick is our Observer Liaison Office and in this role he co-ordinates with existing Observers, and manages the progress of new Observers, helping them to gain the additional skills necessary for this rewarding activity. Mansfield Group was one of the first IAM groups to have an official training program for Observers, and thanks to Renwick's hard work we continue to have very highly trained and skilled Observers. We know that this is another key reason for our very high IAM Test pass rate.

If you've passed your Advanced Driving Test - either recently or some time ago - and would like to become an Observer with the Mansfield Group then please speak to Renwick. It may seem as if we have lots of Observers now - and we certainly have a number of new Observers in training at the moment. But we can never be complacent on this score - having a good number of qualified Observers is essential to our success as a Group. We find that the best way to maximise associates progress is to send them out with many different Observers. Of course for this to be effective, everyone has to be working to a standard programme, and giving the same message, which is why good training is essential.

Please remember also that becoming an Observer is not just about helping others to reach test standard. It's the best way for you to maintain the skills for life that you've already gained, and also is a chance to learn new skills. As part of the training that we provide to new and existing Observers we give you a chance to improve your own driving skills to an even higher level, and help you develop the essential coaching skills that help you to transfer your skills to the Associates. Without exception new Observers find the experience rewarding and enjoyable. So please get in touch with Renwick to find out more.
